Stenor History
Stenor Engineering Ltd was formed in 2001 by Christopher Wesson. The company took over the manufacture of the Stenor Merlin Hose Repair System from Osprey Engineering at that time.
In May 2007 the company was taken over by Phil Hemming. Phil had been involved with the company since its formation and had a very extensive knowledge of the products and services.
In August 2009 Fire Hosetech Ltd. acquired the Stenor Merlin System as it complimented their existing business and offered some obvious synergy with their own hose repair contracts. Their role as Angus Fire’s Hose Repair Partner also gave them the opportunity to further develop and promote the brand worldwide.
Since then, Fire Hosetech has successfully continued to manufacture and supply the Stenor System to customers throughout the UK and the world from its base in Settle.
The success of the company is wholly due to the fact that the Stenor Merlin Hose Repair System is, without doubt, the most reliable and economical system available to the world’s professional firefighters. If you add that to its total ease of use for the correctly trained hose repair technician you have a winning and world beating package.
To date, systems have been sold to the majority of the UK’s municipal fire brigades, a large number of UK airport fire brigades and also to some petro-chemical companies. Internationally, systems have been sold to France, Germany, Holland, Spain, Italy, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, Malaysia, Hong Kong and many more.
